THE APPROACH
Understand your options. Know your next step.
You should understand the proposed work before you commit to it. Sean’s approach centers on the problem you need to solve, the choices available and the resources involved.
Talk with SeanStart with your situation.
Tell Sean what happened, what matters most to you and whether a deadline is approaching. Sean will first review whether he can assist. Share the most important information in your initial message, and wait for Sean’s instructions before providing sensitive documents.
Make sense of the options.
If your matter is a fit, we will discuss the legal issues, the information needed and the proposed scope. Ask Sean what the work will cover, what it will not cover and which decisions will need your input. Sean will explain the options in clear, practical terms so you can make an informed decision.
Agree on the work and the fees.
Before work begins, Sean will discuss the proposed fees, billing arrangement and anticipated expenses with you. Ask Sean which circumstances could change the scope or cost. We will confirm the agreed work in an engagement agreement; representation begins only when the firm agrees to accept your matter.
Affordable legal help begins with a practical conversation.
Cost matters. Tell Sean about your priorities and budget so the proposed work can be discussed in that context. Affordability depends on the matter and the work required. Sean offers a free initial consultation. Any proposed legal fees and scope of work are discussed separately before representation begins.
Move forward with purpose.
Once we begin working together, you will keep relevant records organized and let Sean know when your priorities or circumstances change. Sean will explain the next decisions and discuss what information he needs from you. We will use the communication arrangements in your engagement agreement to keep the work moving.
